Pricing Tiers
Every LIKE MAGIC account is on a pricing tier. The tier decides which capabilities are unlocked for the account. A capability the tier covers is available, and everything else is locked. A capability that needs the higher tier requires Platform pricing, and that is the wording used from here on.
The tier has a visible effect across the Operations Platform, from whole pages down to single controls.
This article explains the tiers and what each one unlocks.
1. The Two Tiers
| Tier | Access | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Core | A fixed allow-list of four capabilities | Entry plan for reception essentials |
| Platform | Full access | Full operations platform |
The tier is set once per account and applies across all of that account's properties. Core is the only tier with restrictions, so a change to the tier is reflected everywhere a capability requires Platform pricing.
ℹ️ Note: A capability outside your tier is not silently removed. In most places it is shown in a locked, upgradeable state so it stays discoverable.
2. What CORE Includes
Core unlocks exactly four capabilities, the essentials a front desk needs, and presents the rest as upgrade options:
- Reservations, the reservation overview
- Messages, guest messaging
- The Settings navigation
- Kiosks settings
Within an unlocked area, individual sub-capabilities can still require Platform pricing. On Core, for example:
- The Condition column and filter in the Reservations overview prompt an upgrade rather than showing the full condition tooling.
- Advanced reservation actions beyond the core communication set are locked, for example jumping to the guest journey or the booking, and copying or resending the guest link.
- Editing guest notes and guest preferences is read-only.
3. Full-Access Tier (PLATFORM)
Platform is the paid full-access tier. Every capability that Core locks is available on Platform without an upsell, including task management, the Platform-only operational pages and the full reservation tooling.
There is a third tier label, Legacy. It is the grandfathered tier for existing accounts and also carries full access. Core is the only tier that restricts capabilities.
ℹ️ Note: Platform unlocks every tier-dependent capability, but a capability can still be unavailable for other reasons: your role does not allow it, LIKE MAGIC has not enabled it for your property (request activation via a Support Ticket), or the property's PMS does not support it.
4. Pricing in the Reservation Detail Drawer
The reservation detail drawer is the clearest place to see the tier at work. It renders up to eleven tabs, and ten of them require Platform pricing. Which of the eleven you see also depends on what LIKE MAGIC has enabled for the property: Upgrade, Billing, Restaurant, F&B Orders and Alerts each appear only where that area is switched on. A locked tab stays visible with a lock and opens an upsell rather than disappearing. The tabs, in order, are:
Overview · Guest Insights · Comments · Services · Upgrade · Keys · Notifications · Billing · Restaurant · F&B Orders · Alerts.
Keys is the exception. It is available on every tier, so on Core it is the only tab that opens normally while the other ten show the upsell.
ℹ️ Note: The Guest Journey Monitoring banner on the detail drawer also requires Platform pricing. Billing, Restaurant, F&B Orders, Upgrade and Alerts appear only where LIKE MAGIC has enabled that area for the property.
5. Viewing and Changing the Tier
Your tier is part of your commercial agreement with LIKE MAGIC and is set once per account by LIKE MAGIC. It is not editable in the Operations Platform. Because it is account-scoped, it applies to every property under the account.
To move to another tier, request it via a Support Ticket. Tier-dependent capabilities across the Operations Platform then unlock or lock accordingly for your whole team.
6. Conclusion
The pricing tier decides what your account unlocks. Core unlocks four capabilities, while Platform and Legacy unlock every tier-dependent capability. A capability your tier does not include is not gone. It is hidden, locked with an upsell, or read-only. When you plan a change to what your team can do, start with the tier, then check role, property setup and PMS.
