Prismic (Event)
An Event promotes something happening at or around your property: a wine tasting, a rooftop concert, a market nearby. Events appear in the Events section of the guest's My Stay page, sorted by start date, and open into a detail page with image, description, times, and location. Past events disappear automatically.
1. Creating an Event
- Log in to your Prismic account and filter via "Type - Event" to see existing events.
- Click "Create New" and select "Event" or open an existing event to edit it.
- Fill in the fields (section 2), then Save and Publish.
- Repeat the content in all relevant languages: each language version is edited separately, like every Prismic document.
2. The Event Fields
a) Main
- Title: the event name, shown on the card and the detail page.
- PMS ID: the property the event belongs to. Only guests of that property see it.
- Cover Image: shown on the card and as the header of the detail page.
- From: start date and time. Events are sorted by this date, and the detail page shows it as the start time.
- To: end date and time. ⚠️ This field does double duty: once it is in the past, the event disappears from the list automatically and an event without a To date is never listed at all. Always set it.
- Address (address lines, city, ZIP, country): shown as the location block on the detail page. Leave all address fields empty to hide the block.
- Google Maps Link: makes the location block clickable.
b) Card and Details
- Card subtitle: the short line under the title in the Events list.
- Details subtitle: the line under the title on the detail page.
- Event description: the full text of the detail page.
3. Where Guests See Events
- My Stay → Events: upcoming events for the property, soonest first, with paging when there are many. The section is hidden entirely while no upcoming events exist.
- Event detail page: opened from the card: cover image, subtitle, description, start and end time, and the location with map link.
- Info Stay: events are also reachable in the QR-based property view for visitors without a stay (see Info Stay).
ℹ️ The heading of the Events section comes from your portal wording and can be adjusted per property.
4. Best Practices
- Always set the To date: it is what removes the event from the portal on time (and without it, the event never shows).
- One event per property: for the same event at several properties, duplicate the document per property with the respective PMS ID.
- Keep titles short (the card layout favours one line) and put the detail into the description.
5. Conclusion
An event needs a title, a PMS ID, a From date and a To date. Once published in a language, it appears for the guests of that property, sorted by its From date, and drops out of the list after its To date has passed.
