Guest Account & Loyalty

The guest profile is where a guest manages who they are: their personal details, address, legal data, and communication preferences. Two optional capabilities extend it: a guest account (login) and a loyalty program. This article explains how the pieces fit and which parts you make available.

This article is written for the administrator deciding what account and loyalty features a property offers.

1. Who Can Use This

The profile itself is part of every guest journey. The account (login) and the loyalty program are each enabled per property by LIKE MAGIC. If you want to offer one and it is not visible in the guest journey, request activation via a Support Ticket.

2. What the Guest Profile Contains

From the guest journey, a guest manages their profile across several areas:

  • Personal: name, date of birth, contact details.
  • Address: home or billing address.
  • Legal: legal and ID data (see ID Scan & Verification).
  • Communication: preferred contact channel.
  • Account: login and account management (only when the account feature is available. See below).
  • Additional information: any extra profile fields the property collects.

The profile is always part of the journey; the account and loyalty sections appear only when they are enabled for the property.

3. Guest Account (Login)

A guest account lets a guest sign in, so their details carry across stays instead of being re-entered each time. When the account feature is enabled for a property:

  • The Account section appears in the guest profile.
  • Guests can create and manage a login, backed by the platform's identity provider.

Where the account feature is not available, the rest of the profile still works. The guest simply completes it per stay without a persistent login.

4. Loyalty Program

A loyalty program surfaces inside the guest profile and on the personal-data step when it is enabled for a property together with marketing consent. On a property that runs marketing consent as a double opt-in, the loyalty option is not shown to the guest at all. It gives returning guests a reason to sign in and book direct. Because loyalty depends on a guest being identifiable across stays, offer it together with the guest account.

ℹ️ Note: Loyalty is an option enabled per property; it is not on by default. Define the scope of your loyalty program before you request its activation via a Support Ticket.

6. Conclusion

The guest profile always lets a guest manage their personal, address, legal, and communication details. On top of that, a guest account can be enabled so guests sign in across stays, and a loyalty program to reward returning guests. Both are enabled per property by LIKE MAGIC and best offered together.
