Honesty Shop

The honesty shop is the simplest of the LIKE MAGIC self-service shops: a product list a guest browses on their own device, adds to a cart, and pays for. The digital equivalent of an honesty shelf in the lobby. There is no front-desk step and no physical device to provision; if the shop is switched on and has a catalog, guests can buy.

This article is written for the operator/administrator who enables and configures the honesty shop, not for guests. For the wider shop family and how catalogs work in general, start with Shops Overview.

1. Who Can Use This​

Configuring the honesty shop is an administrator task: the shop is enabled per property by LIKE MAGIC (section 3), and its catalog is authored in your property's Prismic repository (section 4). The guest-facing shop itself has no role restriction. Any guest on a property where it is available can use it.

2. What the Guest Sees​

On a property where the honesty shop is available, the guest reaches it from My Stay:

  1. They open the shop page and browse the product list.
  2. They add items to a cart.
  3. They review the cart and pay with the property's configured payment provider.

The product list, its prices, and its translations all come from the property's catalog (see section 4). The honesty shop does not have a code-fixed assortment.

3. Enabling the Honesty Shop​

The honesty shop is enabled separately per property by LIKE MAGIC, independent of the other shops. Enabling the honesty shop does not enable the dynamic shop, the box shop, or the self-pouring station, and vice versa. If the shop is missing for a property that should offer it, request its activation via a Support Ticket; if it should apply to all properties of your account, say so in the ticket.

ℹ️ Note: Enabling the shop does nothing for guests until it has a catalog (section 4). If the shop is on but empty, guests see an empty shop.

4. Authoring the Product Catalog​

The honesty shop's assortment is content, authored in Prismic, not code. In the property's Prismic content you define the items guests can buy for the honesty shop's catalog: name, description, price, image, and translations. Publishing a change in Prismic flows to the guest app without a release.

To add or change what the honesty shop sells:

  • Author the honesty-shop items in the property's Prismic catalog.
  • Provide translations for each language the property serves.
  • Publish: the guest app reads the updated catalog.

5. Payment​

Guests pay for honesty-shop purchases through the property's payment configuration: the same provider and VAT presentation as the rest of the guest journey. There is no honesty-shop-specific payment setup; if payments are configured for the property, the shop can charge. See Payment Configuration.

6. Conclusion​

Enabling the honesty shop is two moves: have LIKE MAGIC enable it for the property, and give it a Prismic catalog to sell. Payment rides on the property's existing configuration. If the shop is missing for a property, it has not been enabled yet (Support Ticket); if it is empty, confirm the catalog is published.
